„Nach ihrem gelungenen Debüt «Sounds Without Words» (2014) veröffentlichte das Schweizer Septett um Sängerin Isabelle Ritter FL∆KE 2017 ihr Zweitwerk «Flake». Die Single «All The Things You Love» mischt gekonnt den Charme der späten Fleet Wood Mac mit einem trappigen Beat.
Musikalisch bleibt sich FL∆KE auf dem neuen Album auf das erste Hören treu, mit der Zeit lassen sich aber deutliche Unterschiede zum Erstling ausmachen: Die Mixtur aus Electronica, funky Soul, Singer/Songwriter und rundem Pop wird deutlich abgeklärter präsentiert, das Songwriting ist ohne Ausnahme spannend und schlüssig und Isabelle Ritters Stimme wird hervorragend in Szene gesetzt. Während Bands wie HAIM momentan dem locker-flockigen Soul-Pop der 70er huldigen und dafür allseits viel Anerkennung ernten, packen FL∆KE ihre Nile-Rodgers-Gedächtnis-Gitarren in ein zeitgenössischeres Gewand und scheuen auch nicht vor ganz progressiveren Electronica-Momenten («Pretty Words» - ein wunderbarer Song zwischen Regenwaldambience und Wild West Romantik) zurück. So wirkt das Album - produziert von Thierry Lüthy - in seiner Vielfalt und Abwechslung authentisch und ehrlich.“

After their successful debut «Songs Without Words» (2014), the Swiss septet featuring the voice of Isabelle Ritter released their self-titled second album last autumn (release: 17.11.2017). They remain true to themselves musically, but there are some striking differences from their first release:
The mixture of electronica, funky soul, singer/songwriter and smooth pop is presented much more mellow, the songwriting is exceptionally exciting and coherent and Isabelle Ritter's voice is staged excellently. While bands like HAIM are currently paying tribute to the laid back soul pop of the 70ies and have received a lot of recognition from all over the world, FL∆KE wrap their Nile-Rodgers remembrance guitars into a more contemporary feel and are not afraid of great guitar pop à la John Mayer or even more progressiv electronica. The album, in its variety and diversity, is authentic and honest and the band delivers a remarkable second album, which – wonderfully produced by Thierry Lüthy - never gets boring and thus presents some song gems.
